Several people have taken out nomination papers for a variety of Buxton elected posts but no one had filed by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Election of town officials will be by secret ballot on Tuesday, June 9. The annual town meeting will be on Saturday, June 13.
Papers are available for the selectman’s term of Clifford Emery expiring this year; six charter commission members; two School Administrative District 6 directors’ three-year seats of Cindy Hazelton and Larry Miller; two Planning Board members for three-year seats now belonging to Jeremiah Ross and David Anderson; and the two-year Planning Board term of Caroline Segalla.
Deputy Town Clerk Brenda Brown said those with papers out for selectman include Emery, former selectman Carol Sanborn and Robert Elwell; for the two-year Planning Board, Segalla and Elwell; SAD 6 director, Dennis Santolucito, Miller and Elwell; and charter commission, Cheryl Emery, Dennis Sweatt, Miller, Elwell and Santolucito.
Nomination papers are due at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 27, in the office of Town Clerk John Myers in Buxton Town hall, 185 Portland Road. For more information, call 929-6171.
