The Cape Elizabeth Public Works Department will be replacing a short section of the sanitary sewer main on Oakhurst Road beginning May 11, causing minor traffic delays for about three days, department officials said.
Residents might want to use Mitchell Road during that time to avoid the delays, Public Works Director Robert Malley said.
The section being replaced runs from the intersection of Oakhurst and Shore Road to the entrance of the parking lot at St. Alban’s Church, a length of about 250 feet, Malley said.
Malley said there is an obstruction in the line and some of the joints are failing. The pipe is susceptible to groundwater infiltration, he said.
