The Scarborough Public Library will kick off its annual Summer Reading Program with a performance of “Magic by Scott Jameson” on Friday, June 26, at 3 p.m. at the library, 48 Gorham Road. No preregistration is required for this free event.
Jameson’s show features a family-friendly, theatrical brand of magic and juggling combines an “out of the box” technique with a diverse music soundtrack.
Families can register children for the Summer Reading Program beginning the week of June 21 during library hours. Themes are “Be Creative at Your Library,” for pre-K to grade 5, and “Express Yourself at Your Library” for grades 6 and up. The program runs through Aug. 14 with reading games, creative arts and enrichment programs.
The Summer Reading Program is funded by the Friends of the Scarborough Library.
Links to printable calendars and fliers providing details for all summer events are available at www.library.scarborough.me.us. For more information, call the library’s Children’s Room at 883-4723, ext. 3.
