Freshman open house at SPHS
SOUTH PORTLAND — South Portland High School is hosting an open house for students transitioning into ninth grade on Monday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m.
Parents and students are invited to receive locker information, meet current high school students and participate in tours and informative sessions.
At 6 p.m., locker information will be given at the lower cafeteria, followed by an assembly in the auditorium at 6:15 p.m.. At 6:45 p.m., Red Riot Ambassadors will be hosting tours, with discussion and information sessions continuing at the lower cafeteria.
USM recognizes
scholarship students
PORTLAND — Residents of Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough and South Portland were among the University of Southern Maine students who received scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Ashley LaRose of Cape Elizabeth was awarded the William G. McGowen Scholarship and the Portland Junior College Scholarship.
Michele Savage of Scarborough was awarded the Dean John Bay Scholarship.
Courtney Babbidge of South Portland was awarded the Chris Alice Community Service Scholarship.

holding 30th reunion
CAPE ELIZABETH — The Cape Elizabeth High School class of 1979 will be holding its 30-year reunion on Sept. 19 from 7 p.m.-1 a.m.
The reunion will include food, music and dancing at Camp Ketcha in Scarborough. For more information, contact Betsy Johnson at [email protected] or 871-7115.
