Foundation 51 holds
annual auction

CUMBERLAND — Foundation 51, the nonprofit arm of MSAD 51, will be holding its 11th Annual Fundraising Auction on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Pineland Campus in New Gloucester.

The theme of the auction is “Harvesting Excellence in Education.” The silent auction begins at 6 p.m., with an open bar from 6-7 p.m. and hearty appetizers served throughout the evening. The live auction begins at 8:30 p.m. with “Maine’s Funniest Mom,” Karen Morgan of Cumberland as the auctioneer for the night.

Auction tickets are $30 in advance and are available at www.foundation51.cmarket.com, where online auction items can also be viewed. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $35.

Pardi, Armitage perform
at Old Port Playhouse

PORTLAND —Two students from Falmouth were selected to perform in the “Wizard of Oz,” a live production at Portland’s newest professional theater, the Old Port Playhouse.

Gina Pardi, a sixth grade student at Falmouth Middle School, plays the lead role of Dorothy.

Gwen Armitage, a fourth grade student at Plummer Motz Elementary School, was cast as a munchkin.

The show will run through Nov. 15, with showtimes of 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Kurland earns AP
scholar award

YARMOUTH — Samuel Kurland of Cumberland, a senior who recently transferred from Greely High School to North Yarmouth Academy, was named an AP Scholar with Honor.

Kurland joins five other NYA students previously recognized as AP Scholars with Honor.
