Mt. Ararat group
holds Haiti fundraiser
TOPSHAM — A group of teachers and students at the Mt. Ararat High School has formed a group, “MTA for Haiti,” to raise money to help aid agencies supporting medical work in Haiti.
The group is holding a benefit film screening and bake sale on Saturday, Feb. 6.
The film, “Road to Fondwa” will begin at 11 a.m. at Eveningstar Cinema in Brunswick. Tickets cost $10 and are available for purchase at the door or in advance at Gulf of Maine Books in Brunswick. A bake sale will be held concurrently in the Tontine Mall from 10 a.m. to noon.
All proceeds will go directly to aid the people of Haiti through the work of Partners in Health: Stand with Haiti.
For those who are unable to attend but would like to make a contribution, a check can be made out to “MTA for Haiti” and mailed to MTA for Haiti, ATT: Gillian Watt, Mt. Ararat High School, 73 Eagles Way, Topsham, ME 04086.

TOPSHAM — The energy program at MSAD 75 has teamed up with Good Steward Software to launch GreenQuest, a free personal energy information Web site that helps consumers track and evaluate energy use, expense and greenhouse emissions.
By entering your utility bill data for up to three utilities, GreenQuest can measure your energy consumption and help identify the impact of your conservation efforts and answer key energy-saving questions.

Woodside One Wheelers
to perform in festival
TOPSHAM — The Woodside One Wheelers, a performance club at the Woodside Elementary School that features juggling, unicycles, and dancing on large balls, will be performing at the Cherry Blossom Festival held in Washington, D.C., on April 10.
The group, led by physical education teacher Eric Pulsifer, will be sending their unicyclists down for the national parade.
Rogers named January
student of the month
TOPSHAM — Sara Rogers, an 11th grade student from Topsham, has been named the January Student of the Month at Mt. Ararat High School.
History teacher Mr. Sewall Janeway nominated her in recognition of her performance as a “superior class citizen.”
