State police termed the death of a Limington woman “suspicious” as they pursued an investigation tonight.
Spokesman Steve McCausland said state police found the body of Kelly Winslow, 30, this afternoon off Route 26 in Upton, near the New Hamsphire state border.
Winslow’s husband had reported her missing from their home on Mike’s Way in Limington Thursday night. McCausland said Winslow’s husband had been interviewed by detectives and was cooperative. He was not a suspect, McCausland said. McCausland did not know the husband’s name.
McCausland said police searched several locations today, though he declined to say why they chose those locations.
State medical examiner Dr. Margaret Greenwald arrived at the Route 26 scene late today. Winslow’s body was transported to Greenwald’s office in Augusta. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
McCausland said investigators are looking to Greenwald to provide a cause of death.
He declined to release more information.
