The Maine Legislature will meet again on Monday for more votes on bonds and possible action on a few other bills that are outstanding.

After the Senate failed to pass an $85 million bond package late Wednesday night, the Democrats tabled the bill in hopes of getting the votes needed for passage. The package passed by just one vote in the House earlier in the evening.

House Speaker Hannah Pingree, D-North Haven, who pushed for adjournment by Wednesday, told House members session is likely to begin at 1 p.m. Monday.

“I know looking at your faces you all want to go home permanently and I couldn’t agree with you more,” she said.
