BEVERLY, Mass. – Jenna Bortolotti struck out five and walked one while firing a two-hitter Friday as top-seeded Endicott edged the University of New England 2-0 to advance to the finals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference softball tournament.

UNE starter Jenn Waldecker gave up one earned run on six hits against the Gulls (27-10-1) while walking four and striking out two.

The second-seeded Nor’easters (25-13) will play third-seeded Anna Maria in an elimination game at 10 a.m. today.

BOWDOIN 3, BATES 2: Clare Ronan singled up the middle to drive in the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the ninth, lifting the Polar Bears (28-10, 7-3 NESCAC) over the Bobcats (4-22, 0-10) at Brunswick.

TUFTS 10, COLBY 3: Casey Sullivan hit an RBI double in the sixth and a two-run homer in the seventh to lead the Jumbos (18-11) past the Mules (11-17) at Waterville.

Alyssa Lepore led Colby with a two-run homer.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

BATES 10, COLBY 7: Briana Gross and Jenn Brallier each scored three goals to lead the Bobcats (7-7, 3-6 NESCAC) over the Mules (11-3, 6-3) at Waterville.

Jenna Dannis added a goal and an assist. Kathleen Kramer led the Mules with three goals.

TUFTS 11, BOWDOIN 9: The Jumbos (11-3, 6-3 NESCAC) scored eight goals after halftime, including a 7-1 run to open the second half, as they rallied from a 7-3 deficit against the Polar Bears (10-5, 6-3) at Brunswick.

Carolyn Gorajek scored three goals and assisted on another for the Polar Bears, who will host Williams in a NESCAC quarterfinal on Sunday.

COLBY 8, BATES 6: Whit McCarthy scored three goals and Scott Margolis added two as the Mules (10-5, 5-4 NESCAC) edged the Bobcats (4-9, 0-9) at Lewiston.

TUFTS 14, BOWDOIN 13: Kevin McCormick scored 33 seconds into overtime to lift the Jumbos (13-1, 8-1 NESCAC) over the Polar Bears (8-6, 5-4) at Medford, Mass.

Adam Tracy scored five goals to pace Bowdoin.

BASEBALL

BOWDOIN 8, BATES 4: The Polar Bears (22-11, 5-5 NESCAC East) scored four runs in the first inning and dumped the Bobcats (22-9, 5-5) at Brunswick.

Brett Gorman, Joe Comizio and Kevin Zikaras had RBI singles in the first inning.

WHEATON 5, SOUTHERN MAINE 4: Sean Ryan hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie and lift the Lyons (28-7) over the Huskies (17-14-1) at Gorham.

USM rallied to tie the game with four runs in the sixth, on a two-run triple by Tucker White and Anthony Pisani’s two-run single.
