CAPE ELIZABETH — Luke Pierce had three hits and two RBI, and Yarmouth handed Cape Elizabeth its first loss of the season, earning an 8-6 victory in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Thursday.
The Clippers (11-1) led 5-4 going into the seventh, then added three runs on RBI doubles by Aiden Sullivan and Haley Campbell, and a single by Nick Whittaker.
Campbell finished with three hits.
Kyle Piscopo had three hits and scored three runs for the Capers (10-1). Conor Maloney hit a solo home run.
CHEVERUS 12, PORTLAND 0: Louie DiStasio struck out 10, walked two and allowed one hit in five innings to help the visiting Stags (7-4) shut out the Bulldogs (6-5).
DiStasio also hit a two-run triple and scored on a groundout in the fifth to give Cheverus a 5-0 lead.
Jack Bushey, A.J. Bennett and Nick Melville also had two RBI apiece.
SCARBOROUGH 6, GORHAM 5: Luke Bogdanovich’s pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the sixth broke a 5-5 tie as the Red Storm (7-3) edged the Rams (3-8) at Scarborough.
Brendan Sullivan had an RBI triple and an RBI single for Scarborough.
John Foster, Zach Spiers and Kyle Butterfield each knocked in a run for Gorham.
SOUTH PORTLAND 9, WINDHAM 1: Matt Lee struck out seven and held Windham (5-6) to an unearned run on three hits and a walk as the Red Riots (8-3) won at South Portland.
Mike Foley was 3 for 4 with an RBI, and Connor Vincent had two hits and two RBI.
THORNTON ACADEMY 5, KENNEBUNK 1: Jeff Gelinas allowed one unearned run on four hits in 52/3 innings as the Golden Trojans (7-4) beat the Rams (3-8) at Saco.
Jon Pate gave Thornton a 2-1 lead with a two-run single in the second inning.
Alex Newton added a two-run single in the fifth.
BONNY EAGLE 6, SANFORD 0: Lincoln Sanborn struck out 10 and held Sanford (4-7) to four hits and a walk, leading the Scots (8-3) to a win at Standish.
Tyler Ruby was 2 for 3 with an RBI single, and Nate Martel was 2 for 2 with two runs and an RBI triple.
MASSABESIC 2, MARSHWOOD 0: David Chaves pitched out of several jams as the Mustangs (1-10) shut out the Hawks (4-6) at South Berwick.
Chaves allowed eight hits, six walks and a hit batsmen.
Hunter Douglass had two hits, including an RBI single.
Ian McAllister pitched a three-hitter and gave up one earned run, with eight strikeouts and no walks. Jack Verrill had three hits for Marshwood.
BIDDEFORD 11, NOBLE 3: Tyler Audie and Tyler Parker hit back-to-back triples during a six-run sixth inning as the Tigers (7-4) pulled away from the Knights (0-11) at North Berwick.
Trevor Fleurent had a double, two singles and an RBI for Biddeford.
Steve Campbell hit a two-run double for Noble.
LAKE REGION 10, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 8: Dakota Bush hit a tiebreaking two-run triple in the ninth inning to lift the Lakers (5-6) over the Seagulls (5-4-1) at Naples.
Travis Linehan had a solo home run, and Danny Place had three singles and two RBI for Lake Region.
Evan Bujnowski hit a pair of doubles for Old Orchard Beach.
GREELY 17, WELLS 8: Pete Stauber hit two of his doubles during an eight-run first inning as the Rangers (6-4) rolled past the Warriors (3-8) at Wells.
Sam Thompson added a two-run single.
Brandon Pridham hit a two-run double for Wells.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 13, SACOPEE VALLEY 6: The Raiders (5-7) capitalized on four errors and got an RBI double from Colby Locke as they scored four runs in the sixth inning to erase a 6-4 deficit against the Hawks (0-10) at South Hiram.
Conor Tweedie was 3 for 4 with four runs for Fryeburg, which added five runs in the seventh.
Eddie Warren and Tyler Hill each had an RBI single for Sacopee during a six-run second.
YORK 12, TRAIP ACADEMY 2: Chris Cole hit a two-run homer and Paddy Murphy had two hits and three RBI to help the Wildcats (6-4) beat the Rangers (5-3) in five innings at York.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, POLAND 4: Taylor Valente homered to help the Patriots (6-6) beat the Knights (2-10) at Poland.
HALL-DALE 11, BOOTHBAY 8: Matt Plourde broke an 8-8 tie with a two-run single in the seventh as the Bulldogs (7-3) overcame an 8-2 deficit against the Seahawks (1-10) at Boothbay Harbor.
An RBI double by Tim Norwood highlighted a seven-run second inning for Boothbay.
GEORGES VALLEY 14, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 4: Sam Tarbox hit a two-run homer and Ian Anderson added a three-run double for the Buccaneers (5-5) in an eight-run second inning against the Mustangs (0-10) at Monmouth.

BRUNSWICK 10, LEWISTON 0: George Mills and Peter Morrell each scored three goals to lead the Dragons (7-2) over the Blue Devils (3-5) at Brunswick.
GREELY 10, LAKE REGION 2: Brendan Trelegan and Paul Witte each had a goal and two assists to lead the Rangers (5-4) over the Lakers (0-9) at Cumberland.
