Artist Richard Keen recently created and donated a wall relief sculpture to the town of Topsham, where he resides. The sculpture will hang on a large wall in the municipal building stairwell. A former art teacher at West Harpswell School and at Mt. Ararat High School, Keen was awarded a $1,500 grant through the Maine Art Commission’s “Good Idea Grant” program for the project, and he funded the rest. His artwork, influenced by working waterfront iconography, has been exhibited in commercial, university and non-profit galleries across the country.
