Julia Kirtland, a massage therapist and athlete, will lead a free clinic for runners from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Center for Grieving Children, 555 Forest Avenue in Portland. Coast to Coast Baseball will hold a tryout and hitting camp for players ages 10-18 on Thursday at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor. Players chosen from the tryout may choose to represent the USA in competition in Puerto Rico or work with college coaches and pro scouts at a camp and showcase event in Florida or Arizona. The Maine Games is offering an NFL-sanctioned Punt, Pass and Kick competition in conjunction with the 21st annual Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic on July 24 at Waterhouse Field in Biddeford. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. and the preliminaries will start at 10. The finals will be held at halftime of the Lobster Bowl Classic. A women’s 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Portsmouth High School. There will be a women’s division for anyone 18 and older, and a girls’ division for grades 9-12. MBR and the Sportszone in Saco will host the Beach, a tournament for high school girls’ summer basketball teams, on July 24-25. The event will be pool play with a three-game minimum.
