SACO — General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products has been awarded a $24.9 million contract to build 130 advanced lightweight grenade launchers for the U.S. Army, U.S. Sen. Susan Collins announced today.

Collins, R-Maine, is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. The grenade launchers will be produced at the General Dynamics plant on North Street.

The contract is expected to be completed by August 2012.
