In Ellsworth, painter David Graeme Baker will talk about his work from 4 to 5 p.m. today at Courthouse Gallery Fine Art. Baker will review his career and discuss his recent body of work, which is currently on exhibition in the gallery.

Baker made a name for himself in Pennsylvania, then moved with his family to Maine in 2000. Maine’s influence is evident in Baker’s recent work. He combines figure, still life and landscape motifs into narrative paintings.

Daielma Santos returns to Maine for performances with Debi Irons and her Dance Moves Project at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at One Longfellow Square in Portland and 7:30 p.m. Friday at Oxford Hills High School in South Paris. The program is titled “Back to Brasil.”

Santos danced with Portland Ballet for many years, and she and Irons have worked together periodically.

Irons directs the show, which moves from classical jazz through modern with eight dancers sharing their interpretations of a range of music. In addition to Santos and Irons, dancers are Sasha Campbell, Erin Hamlin, Emily Delamater, Chloe Bergman-Ray, Karianna Merrill and Kim Hamlin.
