A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of “likely voters” in the state found Republican Paul LePage earning 38 percent of the vote to Democrat Libby Mitchell’s 30 percent. Independent Eliot Cutler polled 16 percent, with 4 percent prefering some other candidate and 11 percent undecided.
In July, LePage posted 39 percent support in the Rasmussen poll.
The survey of 500 “likely voters” took place Aug. 12.
