WEST GARDINER — Traffic has resumed moving after a vehicle fire briefly shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 295 this afternoon.

The interstate was closed for roughly 30 minutes.

Police closed the highway around 1 p.m., after a car became fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were called to douse the burning car, which was located near the Cobbosseecontee Stream overpass.
