This week

George Marshall Store Gallery in York opens an exhibition Saturday of new work by Maine painter Lincoln Perry. Perry, who when not living in Maine also spends time in Virginia and Florida, is a seeker of the Maine landscape. In his latest body of work, Perry reconsiders familiar places — Fisherman’s Walk, Wiggly’s Bridge and the expansive farmlands and woodlands of southern Maine.

The exhibition opens with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and runs through Oct. 3. The gallery is at 140 Lindsay Road, York. For information, call 351-1083 or visit www.georgemarshallstoregallery.com

Up the road in Falmouth, colorist John Knight opens a show of new work, “Tidal Nocture,” with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Elizabeth Moss Gallery, 251 U.S. Route 1. Info: 781-2620; www.elizabethmossgalleries.com.

On Saturday, The 45th annual WCSH6 Sidewalk Art Festival will kick off at 9 a.m. in downtown Portland. Nearly 300 artists and photographers will display their work until 4 p.m. along Congress Street, from the intersection of Park Street to Monument Square.
