PORTLAND — A new group for parents of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 6:30-8 p.m., at Lincoln Middle School, 522 Stevens Ave.
A School Department press release said the network will allow parents to connect with each other, learn more about ADHD/executive function and resources available to help their children.
The district’s lead psychologist, Dr. Christopher Kaufman, who authored “Executive Function in the Classroom,” will lead the group and Tammy Ryan will be the parent coordinator.
The first meeting will look at the nature of ADHD, its types and symptoms, and its biological basis.
Meetings are free and open to the public. For more information, email kaufmc@portlandschools.org or call 874-8134.
