The proceeds from the bottle drive will benefit SFBC’s food pantry, which serves individuals and families in this community every week. Guided walk, sponsored by the Fort Williams Charitable Foundation, in Fort Williams Park at 10 a.m. that will be guided by Joel Eastman and Dick Kurtz. The rain date is the following Saturday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. The walk will highlight the military history of Fort Williams Park and the proposed engineering feasibility study of Battery Blair. Eastman is a well-known historian who conducts walking tours of Casco Bay’s many historic coastal defenses. The FWCF invites anyone who is interested in Fort Williams history to join the tour, which will meet at Battery Blair (directly opposite the Light House) at 10:00.
