Todd A. Thompson and John-Justin W. Marcigliano have graduated from the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.

Thompson is the son of Fred and stepson of Cathy Thompson of Westbrook and is a 2005 graduate of Westbrook High School.

Marcigliano is the son of John and Nancy Marcigliano of Westbrook and is a 2006 graduate of Westbrook High School.

 

Army Pvt. Brandon M. Leconte and Army Spec. Wannita R. McClain have graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

Leconte is the son of Kevin Leconte of Gorham and graduated from Gorham High School in 2007.

McClain is the daughter of Darunee McClain of San Diego, Calif., and Charles McClain of Portland. She graduated in 2005 from Crawford Educational Complex in San Diego and received a bachelor’s degree in 2009 from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Zachary A. Pearson, son of Anne Parker of Acton and Wayne Pearson of Kittery, recently returned from a 66-day deployment while stationed on the Coast Guard Cutter Seneca, which is home ported in Boston.

Pearson is a 2008 graduate of Noble High School in North Berwick and joined the Coast Guard in Aug. 2008.

 

American Legion National Commander Jimmie Foster of Alaska will be making an official visit to Maine on Nov. 5-7. Foster will arrive in Portland in the afternoon of Nov. 5. On Saturday he will have breakfast at the Fitzgerald-Cummings Post #2 in Augusta, tour the Veterans Administration Medical Facility at Togus, have lunch at Peters-Shortier Post #16 in Skowhegan and visit the Grover-Hinckley Post #14 in Fairfield.

A banquet will be held at the Bourque-Lanigan Post #5 in Waterville on Saturday evening. He leaves Maine on Nov. 7. All veterans are welcome to meet with Commander Foster whether they are members of the American Legion or not.
