SOUTH PORTLAND — Cracker Barrel Old Country Store will be opening in South Portland on Monday.
It’s the first Maine store for the Tennessee-based company, which has nearly 600 restaurants in 41 states.
The store, located on Maine Mall Road near the Wyndham Hotel, will open at 6 a.m.
Cracker Barrel spokeswoman Julie Davis said the company chose not have a grand opening ceremony.
“It’s a new store with new employees and new guests,” Davis said. “We just want to have a great experience.”
The roughly 10,000-square-foot store includes a retail area and a restaurant that will seat approximately 195 people. Davis said they will hire between 125 and 150 full- and part-time workers.
The company today announced that the store’s retail manager will be Shaune Cook, who has 22 years of restaurant industry experience.
Cracker Barrel was founded in 1969.
