The Rev. Richard L. Bennett, pastor of Bridgton’s First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, was recently honored at a reception with church members and friends. Bennett is retiring this month after 12 years serving the church and community.

Bishop Richard Malone is completing a trip to Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to see firsthand the work of Catholic Relief Services in those African nations. This is the bishop’s first overseas trip since his appointment to the board of CRS last year. While in Burundi, Malone attended a Conference on Peace and Reconciliation.

The Rev. Greg Dube will serve as chaplain for the Portland hospitals and also as parochial vicar for the Portland peninsula and island parishes, effective Nov. 1. Dube, of Lewiston, has been on a leave of absence since February and had been serving as parochial vicar of Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford since his ordination in June 2007.
