Jon Oplinger has joined Tilson Technology Management in Portland as a senior consultant. Oplinger was previously a technology director for Howell Ltd., a commercial photography studio in Portland.

Robert J. DeColfmacker has been named interim president of The Landing School in Kennebunkport, replacing Barry Acker, who will head a new team as director of advancement.

DeColfmacker was previously a consultant with Stevens Strategy, a management consulting firm in a higher-education sector. He also served as a school trustee in 2008.

Cindy Lang has joined Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty in Camden as an associate broker. Lang will represent buyers and sellers of residential real estate in midcoast Maine. She has more than 30 years’ experience in the field.

Sayre English has joined the Portland Downtown District as its special events and public relations manager. English previously worked at a local nonprofit, managing public relations, marketing, website development and volunteer programs.

AWARDS and RECOGNITION

Maureen McQuade, former innkeeper and owner of Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, was awarded the title of master of New England innkeeping by the New England Inns and Resorts Association.

Jessica Harrison, a Portland-based aesthetician, was recently certified in clinical oncology aesthetics. She is expanding her practice to serve individuals with cancer and those recovering from it.

Harrison earned her certification through Touch for Cancer, which teaches aestheticians how to give spa treatments to people with health-challenged skin. She will offer the specialized treatments at Amore Skin Center in Portland.

GENERAL

Amanda Meader, an associate with the law firm Bernstein Shur, was appointed to the Animal Welfare Advisory Council by Gov. John Baldacci. Meader has extensive experience in animal welfare law.

She is a member of the municipal and regulatory practice group at Bernstein Shur and belongs to the Maine State Bar Association, the Kennebec County Bar Association and the International Municipal Lawyers Association.
