DOVER, N.H. – Robert Hannigan and Nick Whitten scored just 21 seconds apart in the second period, and Dominic Desjardins made 54 saves Monday to help South Portland hold on for a 3-2 boys’ hockey victory over York.

Zach Horton had a goal and an assist for South Portland (2-2). Anthony Figlioli and Conor O’Brien scored for York (2-2).

 

WESTBROOK 4, BONNY EAGLE 3: Tommy Lemay had a goal and two assists as the Blue Blazes (1-3) edged the Scots (1-3) at USM Arena.

Alex Benson added a goal and an assist.

Sean Walsh netted two goals for Bonny Eagle.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 68, PINE TREE ACADEMY 17: Charlotte Esancy led five players in double digits with 14 points as the Panthers (2-3) defeated the Breakers (0-4) at Yarmouth.

Blair Haggett and Morgan Scully each had 13 points, Chloe Leishman scored 12 and Eliza Gendron added 10.

 

GEORGES VALLEY 39, WINTHROP 23: Jessica Veilleux had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead the Buccaneers (2-2) past the Ramblers (1-3) at Thomaston.

NOBLE 37, KENNEBUNK 30: Chandler Waterman scored 11 points and Brittany Racicot added 10 for the Knights (2-2) in a win over the Rams (0-3) at Kennebunk.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

WISCASSET 62, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 50: Dani Murphy had 15 points and 10 rebounds to power the Redskins (4-0) to a win over the Mustangs (3-1) at Wiscasset.

Ashton Benn also scored 15 points, and Jordan Jones had 11 points and seven assists.

 

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 80, PINE TREE ACADEMY 40: Eli Leavitt scored a career-high 28 points, including eight 3-pointers, as the Panthers (1-3) beat the Breakers (0-4) at Freeport.

Mike Ianno and Keegan Drouin added 10 points apiece. Tim McGuire was the top scorer for Pine Tree with 13.

 

KENNEBUNK 52, NOBLE 47: Vann Brazz made three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with 18 points as the Rams (1-3) rallied past the Knights (0-4) at North Berwick.

Matt Dube contributed 14 points for Kennebunk, which trailed 38-35 after three quarters.

Brady Dodge and Mitch Edmonds paced Noble with 11 points apiece.

 

BOOTHBAY 75, HALL-DALE 47: Jake Simmons scored 17 points as the Seahawks (2-2) beat the Bulldogs (1-3) at Hallowell.

Ben Dickinson contributed 14 points, and Dan Dickinson and Jordan Caron each had 12.
