PASSADUMKEAG — A Maine man has been charged with impersonating a public servant for allegedly going to a neighbor’s house, telling the couple living there he was a Maine State Police trooper and taking items from their home.
Stephen Kinsella, of Passadumkeag, made his first court appearance Monday at the Penobscot Judicial Center in Bangor.
Police told the Bangor Daily News that a trooper recently had given Kinsella a business card, which Kinsella then used to claim he himself was a trooper. Police said Kinsella had recently moved to Passadumkeag, a small town north of Bangor.
When State Police arrived at the home, they allegedly caught the 40-year-old Kinsella in the act of taking items from the residence. He is also charged with burglary and theft.
