Workers for Portland’s Public Services Department remove snow Tuesday from Turner Street near the Eastern Prom on Munjoy Hill. Operating the loader and snowblower is Duane Cote, who had already filled more than 100 large dump trucks with snow Tuesday. He says he can fill a truck in 30 seconds and is only limited by how many trucks are available to fill. According to Cote, most of the snow will go to the Somerset Street snow lot. Warmer weather, expected to top 40 degrees by Thursday, should help the city’s removal task as melting reduces the banks of snow.
