The Portland Sea Dogs are accepting registrations for their fifth annual Sea Dogs Baseball Camp, which will be held June 27 to July 1. Campers ages 8 to 12 will receive instruction from Sea Dog players. The cost is $275, which includes the camp, attendance at Portland’s game with the New Britain Rock Cats on June 29, a T-shirt, a hat and lunch each day. To register or for more information, visit

Registration for the third annual Dempsey Challenge will open at 9 a.m. today through the event website: www.dempseychallenge.org. The run, walk and cycling event is scheduled for Oct. 8 and 9 in Lewiston. Registration fees remain unchanged from 2010: The 5K or 10K run/walk is $35, cycling is $75, and $100 for participants wishing to take part in both events. The 5K and 10K run/walk will take place on Oct. 8, followed by cycling rides on Oct. 9.
The Challenge serves as the primary fundraising vehicle for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center.
