The 13th annual Mary’s Walk and Kerrymen Pub 5K will be held Sunday on the Thornton Academy campus, 436 Main St.

Seven good mushrooms
Mycologist and author Greg Marley, founder of the company Mushrooms for Health, will present the talk “The Sumptuous Seven: The Best and Most Easily Identified of Maine’s Wild Edible Mushrooms” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Camden Public Library, 55 Main St.
Marley will detail his 35 years of mushroom hunting and research in the state. He is a volunteer mushroom identification consultant to poison control centers across New England. His newest book, “Chanterelle Dreams, Amanita Nightmares: The Love Lore and Mystic of Mushrooms,” was published in 2010.

St. Patrick’s Day dance
A St. Patrick’s Day dance for adults will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Nasson Community Center Gymnasium, 457R Main St.

House restorer to talk
Professional house restorer Darryn Petersen of Nobleboro will discuss the challenges and rewards of living in a historic “work in progress” house during the lecture “Replacing the Irreplaceable” at 2 p.m. Sunday in the 911 Communications Center, behind the Lincoln County Courthouse at routes 1 and 27.

Alumni basketball classic
The annual Old Orchard Beach Alumni Basketball Classic will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the high school gymnasium. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. There will be a $100 door prize.

Two lectures at the library
York Public Library, 15 Long Sands Road, will host two talks this week.
At noon Thursday, registered nurse Nancy H. Kilpatrick will share her experiences of medical outreach trips to the Kibera slums in Kenya and serving on surgical mission teams in the Dominican Republic, Malawi and Uganda.
And, at 7 p.m. Friday, local author Mary Cerullo will discuss her book “Shipwrecks,” contrasting the exploration of two strikingly different shipwrecks. Free and open to the public. For details, call 363-2818.

Open garden meeting
The Seacoast Garden Club will hold its annual open meeting at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Community House on Temple Street, across from the Kennebunkport Post Office.
Guest speaker is Lucinda Brockway of Kennebunk. The talk is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Prom fashion show
The junior class at Wells High School will present a prom fashion show featuring tuxedos and gowns at 7 p.m. Thursday in the school’s Olenn Auditorium. Admission is $5.

Senior College lecture series
The York County Senior College lecture series continues March 16 at Denis Hall on the campus of the Brothers of Christian Instruction, 133 Shaker Hill Road (off Route 202).
Lectures about Teddy Roosevelt and mountain climbing will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., with lunch between sessions and coffee breaks. Admission is $15 and includes cost of meals.
The lectures are open to members of the public who are 50 or older.
