NEW FACES
• Aaron Harris joined Verrill Dana, LLP as a marketing assistant. Harris moved to Maine from Illinois in 2001 and graduated from the University of Southern Maine’s marketing and business administration program.
• William Boeschenstein Jr. was named chief operating officer for the Department of Health and Human Services. Boeschenstein, of Cape Elizabeth, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency. He has more than 30 years of experience in the banking and energy industries.
• Bonnie Smith was named deputy commissioner of programs at the Department of Health and Human Services. Smith, of Portland, has 24 years of experience in nursing. She was previously the director of care coordination at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
• Kevin L. Schofield was hired as police chief in Bridgton. Schofield has more than 25 years of law enforcement experience, including budgeting, strategic planning and operations management. He was previously commander of the support services division of the Brunswick Police Department, where he managed the department’s criminal investigations division, the E911 emergency center and the records division.
• Joel Bancroft was named building operations manager for Aquarius Property Management, LLC. He will oversee interior, exterior and grounds maintenance of APM’s rental properties in the Portland area.
• Carri Preble and Michelle Pacheco have joined Tilson Technology Management. Preble will be manager of the company’s wireless programs, while Pacheco joined the firm as a consultant and member of Tilson’s wireless and telecommunications group.
• Andrew Gelinas joined Fluid Imaging Technologies Inc. in Yarmouth as an industrial sales coordinator. Gelinas was previously marketing manager for Creative Fitness Marketing in Chicago.
• Fred Weymouth joined All Computer Solutions in Portland as a network engineer and technical manager. Weymouth is a certified Microsoft and Cisco engineer with more than 10 years of experience.
• Tammy Watt was named store manager of TD Bank’s location at Shaw’s supermarket in Scarborough. Watt, of Saco, has three years of banking experience and was previously with Penobscot McCrum LLC.
PROMOTIONS
• Andy Davis, a certified water-fire restoration technician at PuroClean, was promoted to a supervisory role in the company. Davis joined PuroClean last August.
GENERAL
• The following individuals were elected to the board of directors for the Maine Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association: Cheryl Tardy of Sanford, president; Susan Walker of Windham, re-elected as first vice president; Michael Whiteley of Bingham, second vice president; Dale Albert of Albion, third vice president; and Amy Rolnick of Portland, re-elected as treasurer. The delegates representing Maine at the national convention Oct.19-22 will be Walter Selens of Portland and Whiteley.
• Muriel Scott, president and chief executive officer of Spectrum Generations, recently announced her retirement. Scott began at Spectrum in 1976, as director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. In 1978, she became the nutrition director, then was promoted to associate director in 1979. She led Spectrum’s effort to be one of the first agencies in the state to use volunteers to pack and deliver Meals on Wheels, which was integral in system changes and how Spectrum Generations delivers services.
• Carl J. Soderberg, president of Soderberg Construction Co. in Caribou, joined the board of directors for Savings Bank of Maine. He is vice president and partner of C.S.S. Development Inc., a real estate holding company in Caribou; treasurer and director of Sure Winner Foods, a distributor of ice cream and frozen foods in Saco; and owner and president of Nordic Properties LLC, a real estate holding company based in Caribou.
• Aaron Despres bought Up-Country Building Inspectors Inc. in Scarborough and became its new president. Despres is a certified inspector with the American Society of Home Inspectors, and a building analyst with the Building Performance Institute. He is also a residential energy services rater and has a master’s degree in geology.
