The Libby-Mitchell American Legion baseball team will hold a tryout at 5 p.m. May 15 at Scarborough High. Players wishing to try out should show up with cleats, glove and hat. Players need to set aside enough time to fill out a tryout registration form, and should also bring their original copy birth certificate. The 10th annual women’s ride sponsored by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine will take place June 5 at L.L. Bean’s Casco Conference Center on Casco Street in Freeport. Staggered times for the race begin at 8 a.m. The ride has four distance options: 5, 15, 20 and 50 miles. The all-female ride is suited to girls and woman of all ages and fitness levels. Registration is $35 for members and $45 for non-members with a $10 discount for those ages 12-17 or over 65. Girls 11 and under ride free.
