BANGOR — State Police say a motorcyclist spotted popping wheelies as he drove down Main Street in Bangor has been jailed for driving at excessive speeds.
Twenty-six-year-old Chad Pike, of Bangor, was doing wheelies — raising his front tire up — and going 61 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone when he was stopped by Hashey, who was driving an unmarked police car.
Trooper Chris Hashey tells the Bangor Daily News he took Pike to jail because he was going at a dangerous speed. He was charged with criminal speed and raising a motorcycle front wheel off the surface of the road.
