Heather Swanson joined Investcomm Commercial Group, a full-service commercial brokerage firm. Swanson, a Realtor and licensed real estate agent, has more than eight years of experience in real estate. She previously worked at Better Homes and Gardens – The Masiello Group.

Miriam A. Johnson joined the law firm of Berman & Simmons, where she will be focusing on medical malpractice and personal injury cases. Johnson, of Bath, was previously an assistant district attorney for Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox and Waldo counties.

Juliana L’Heureux was appointed executive director of the Cromwell Center for Disabilities Awareness. L’Heureux was most recently executive director of the Maine Association of Mental Health Services, a public policy and advocacy group for mental health providers.

Kristy Pendexter joined the employee benefits team of Insurance Trust. Pendexter has more than 10 years of experience working with Maine businesses.

Steven Garrard joined the maintenance division of Thayer Corp. in Auburn as an energy and maintenance consultant. Garrard, of Gorham, is a former account manager for FairPoint Communications and Idearc Media Corp. and has extensive sales and training experience.

Matthew Stringer joined KeyBank as a senior business banking relationship manager in York County. Stringer, of Scarborough, was previously vice president and a commercial loan officer at People’s United Bank in Portland and Ocean Bank in Kennebunk.

PROMOTIONS

Shawn Martin was promoted to CLEC central office supervisor at Oxford Networks in Lewiston. Martin, of Turner, previously served as a central office technician and has worked for the company for 11 years.

Ira Camp was promoted to mortgage account officer at People’s United Bank of southern Maine. Camp will cover York County out of the bank’s Kennebunk branch. He has more than seven years of mortgage experience.

U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management has promoted Steven Funk and John Fitzgerald. Funk, of Scarborough, has been promoted to senior vice president. He joined U.S. Trust in 2006 as a vice president and senior trust officer serving the Greater Portland and Bangor markets. Fitzgerald has been promoted to senior vice president and portfolio relationship manager. He has more than 20 years of investment experience.

Michael Chamberlain was named vice president and senior business banking relationship manager at KeyBank. Chamberlain, of Belfast, previously served as a business banking relationship manager in Key’s Bangor metro market and its coastal and central Maine markets.

Thomas Drottar was named chief executive officer of Medical Networks in Scarborough. Drottar joined MedNet in 2009 as director of networks and business development. He was previously with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Danielle Brown and Jackie Parent were promoted at Community Credit Union in Lewiston. Brown was promoted to branch support. She joined the credit union in 2008 as a member representative. Parent was named a branch operations supervisor. She joined the credit union in 2004 as a member representative and was later promoted to operations support.

Wright-Ryan Homes promoted Andy Seymour and Lee Proscia. Seymour was promoted to project manager. He has been an assistant project manager since 2008. Proscia was promoted to pre-construction manager and will remain a millwork manager. He joined Wright-Ryan as a cabinetmaker in 2007.

GWI recently promoted Tricia Conley and Trevor Jones. Conley, who was promoted to controller, joined GWI in September 2009 after working at Tom’s of Maine and Unum. Jones was promoted to director of marketing and product development. He joined GWI in March 2010 after serving as vice president of marketing for Zone Telecom Inc. and director of marketing and business development for Country Road Communications.

Kelli Star Fox was promoted to director of training at Sweetser. She was previously director of affiliates and co- occurring disorders programs.

Avesta Housing’s Florence House received an honorable mention award in the special-needs housing category of the 17th annual Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Awards. Florence House opened in April 2010 and offers independent apartments, safe-haven spaces and emergency beds to chronically homeless people in Portland.

L-A Harley in Lewiston was awarded Harley-Davidson Motor Co.’s Gold Bar & Shield Circle of Excellence Award. L-A Harley was recognized for its motorcycle and related-product sales performance and an evaluation of customer service and satisfaction.

WMTW TV (Channel 8) and WMTW.com earned their sixth regional Edward R. Murrow Award in the past four years from the Radio-Television News Directors Association.

The Human Resources Association of Southern Maine received the EXCEL Gold Award from the Society for Human Resource Management.

The Maine chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness was honored with the Presidential Appreciation Award from the Maine Association of Psychiatric Physicians. The group received the award for its contributions toward mental health parity and its service to the community. Dr. Diane Schetky received the association’s Ulrich Jacobsohn Lifetime Achievement Award for her “extraordinary and tireless efforts in providing and advocating for excellent treatment of Maine citizens with psychiatric disease.”
