CAPE ELIZABETH – Emily Donovan drew a bases-loaded walk to force home the go-ahead run in the bottom of the second inning Friday, and Emmy Ham added an RBI single in the third as Cape Elizabeth edged Falmouth 8-7 in a Western Maine Conference softball game.

Falmouth (7-4) trailed 6-0 after one inning but tied the game in the top of the second with the help of a leadoff home run by Alli Carver and a two-run double by Jessie L’Heureux.

Kelsey Freedman also homered for Falmouth in the fourth.

Lauren Nicholson doubled home two runs for the Capers (8-4) during their first-inning surge.

 

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 4, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Sarah Harriman pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead the Raiders (13-0) over the Hawks (9-3) at Fryeburg.

Ashley Watkins hit an RBI double and Emily Davidson had a two-run single.

Michelle Pellegrin and Katie Mayhew each had a hit for Sacopee Valley.

 

LAKE REGION 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Allyson Clark struck out 10 and walked none while pitching a three-hitter to help the Lakers (5-6) defeat the Patriots (6-6) at Gray.

Lake Region took a 2-0 lead in the third inning when Abby Craffey doubled home two runs.

YARMOUTH 14, FREEPORT 1: Alexa Sullivan and Abbie Hutchinson each hit a two-run single as the Clippers (11-2) scored eight runs in the fifth inning to pull away from the Falcons (3-9) at Freeport.

Hutchinson finished with three singles, four RBI and three runs scored. Laura Klepinger gave up two hits and struck out eight over five innings.

 

WELLS 22, YORK 1: Jill Sledzieski hit a grand slam and drove home six runs as the Warriors (6-5) beat the Wildcats (2-10) in Wells.

Sabrina Link hit two of her three doubles during an 11-run third inning, driving home three runs and scoring twice.

BIDDEFORD 6, CHEVERUS 1: Sarah Gilblair hit a two-run single in the third inning and Katelyn Lebreux added a two-run double in the sixth as the Tigers (7-3) pulled away from the Stags (1-10) Portland.

Alyssa Baldino had two doubles and two runs scored.

Gilblair pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and five walks.

Tanya Battanasil hit an RBI single in the second inning as Cheverus took the 1-0 lead. Emily Rodrigue and Erin Bucci each had a triple for the Stags.

 

SOUTH PORTLAND 14, PORTLAND 2: Olivia Indorf pitched a seven-hitter with eight strikeouts for her first varsity win, and Stephanie McDonough drove in four runs for the Red Riots (11-0) in a five-inning win over the visiting Bulldogs (0-10).

McDonough hit a two-run single in the first inning and a two-run double in the second as the Red Riots scored four runs in each of the first two innings.

Erin Bogdanovich finished with three hits and scored three runs.

 

NOBLE 4, WESTBROOK 2: Amber Kelly pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts, and the Knights (7-5) scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to earn a win over the Blue Blazes (4-8) at Westbrook.

Becca Osborne drove home the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth. The Knights scored their other runs on a wild pitch and two errors.

Allie Lemay hit a sacrifice fly and Lindsay Driscoll drove in a run with a fielder’s choice for Westbrook.

MARSHWOOD 15, DEERING 2: Savannah Landis had two doubles, a single and two RBI to lead the Hawks (4-9) over the Rams (2-9) in five innings at South Berwick.

Savannah Bosse, Nicole O’Neal and Kim Hussey also drove in two runs each.

 

KENNEBUNK 5, GORHAM 0: Carinn Burns struck out six and Janelle Bouchard hit a solo homer as Kennebunk (8-2) shut out Gorham (4-8) in Kennebunk.

Bouchard finished with two hits and a pair of RBI. Meg Cadigan added three hits for Kennebunk.

Leaha Keene and Caroline Fogarty each had two hits for Gorham.

 

GEORGES VALLEY 11, LISBON 4: Jill Bradbury had eight strikeouts and a two-run triple to lead the Buccaneers (9-0) past the Greyhounds (6-4) at Thomaston.

Natalie Russell and Kelsie Thompson also had two RBI each for Georges Valley.

 

MEDOMAK VALLEY 18, ROCKLAND 0: Lindsay Ranquist and Paige Bradshaw each had three hits each as the Panthers (10-0) rolled past the Tigers (3-9) at Rockland.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 17, NYA 5: Jess DeRepentigny hit a single, a home run and scored twice, and the Seagulls (6-5) took an 11-0 first-inning lead and beat the visiting Panthers (1-8).

Gillian Foss chipped in with two doubles and two RBI, and Tianna Zukowski added a triple.

Mae Toohey pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and five walks.

LACROSSE

GREELY 14, WELLS 11: Meg Finlay score three goals and Audrey Parolin added a pair as the Rangers (5-4) beat the Warriors (3-5) at Wells.

Kelly Beisswanger scored six times and Jenni Li had four for Wells.

 

MT. ARARAT 14, LINCOLN ACADEMY 2: Haley Michaud scored four goals and Callie Kirk added three to lead Mt. Ararat (5-2) past Lincoln Academy (1-8) at Topsham.

 

BONNY EAGLE 21, NOBLE 3: Carissa Farwell, Rachel Litif and Kate Boyer each had three goals for the Scots (4-5) in a win over the Knights (0-9) at North Berwick.

Haley Thorne contributed a goal and three assists.
