PORTLAND – Mitchell Powers pitched a five-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk Thursday to lead Cheverus to a 3-2 victory against upset-minded Windham in a Telegram League baseball game.

Nic Lops scored on a squeeze by Tyler Flaherty to put Cheverus (12-1) ahead in the bottom of the sixth after Ben Noble made it 2-2 with a two-out, two-run single in the top of the inning.

Harry Ridge had two hits and scored twice for the Stags.

Cody Dube tossed a six-hitter for the Eagles (7-7).

MASSABESIC 2, BONNY EAGLE 0: Hunter Duncan struck out eight and walked three in a four-hit shutout as the Mustangs (3-9) downed the Scots (3-10) at Standish.

Casey Nava doubled and scored in the sixth, and Travis Mansfield added an RBI single in the inning.

THORNTON ACADEMY 10, KENNEBUNK 5: The Golden Trojans (8-6) scored five runs in the ninth inning to beat the Rams (3-11) in extra innings at Kennebunk.

Jonathan Dupee hit a two-run single, Jack Kenney and Alex Newton each singled in a run, and Jeff Gelinas added a sacrifice fly in the ninth.

WESTBROOK 9, PORTLAND 0: Joe Dvilinsky pitched a four-hitter with three strikeouts and one walk for his first win, and Sam Stauble had three hits with three RBI as the Blue Blazes (13-1) handled the Bulldogs (5-9) at Westbrook.

Scott Heath had two hits with two RBI for Westbrook, which scored five runs in the second inning.

MARSHWOOD 3, BIDDEFORD 1: Troy Pappas came in with one out and the bases loaded in the seventh inning, then induced a double play to preserve a victory for the Hawks (10-4) against the Tigers (8-6) at South Berwick.

Jack Verrill went 61/3 innings for Marshwood, allowing five hits and four walks, striking out five.

GORHAM 13, SOUTH PORTLAND 9: Damon Wallace had three hits with five RBI and was the winning pitcher for the Rams (4-10) against the Red Riots (10-5) at South Portland.

Brendon Joyce had three hits and three RBI, including a two-run single during a five-run fifth inning that gave the Rams the lead for good.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 7, WELLS 4: Heath Martell went 3 for 3 with a home run and three runs to help the Patriots (9-6) beat the Warriors (9-5) at Gray.

Kyle Nielsen struck out six and gave up six hits in six-plus innings. Jordan Rice added three hits, an RBI and a run for Gray-New Gloucester.

GEORGES VALLEY 10, LISBON 6: Ben Oaks-Boynton’s pinch-hit double in the sixth inning put the Buccaneers (4-8) ahead for good against the Greyhounds (4-11) at Lisbon Falls.

NOBLE 2, SANFORD 1: Nick Bickford singled home David Arlin with one out in the ninth inning to lift the Knights (2-13) over the Redskins (2-12) at North Berwick.

Jake Emard started the inning with a triple and was forced out at the plate after two intentional walks.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 15, SACOPEE VALLEY 5: Ryan Salerno went 2 for 2 with a grand slam, and Jordan Haskell had two doubles and two RBI to lead the Panthers (10-3) past the Hawks (0-14) in five innings at South Hiram.
