Mike Griffin, the athletic director at Greely High School since 2005, will not return to his position, The Forecaster learned Tuesday morning.

Griffin indicated in a note to the MSAD 51 superintendent that he “learned a great deal during my time with MSAD 51” and that he “intends to use this knowledge in my future educational endeavors.”

Griffin, who could not be reached for comment Tuesday morning, stressed in his note that “It is the student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff that I will miss the most. They are an exceptional group. I wish you and the rest of the MSAD 51 community all the best.”

We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
