LUBEC — The post office in the easternmost town of the United States is offering a special postmark to celebrate the town’s 200th anniversary.

The U.S. Postal Service says the Lubec post office will stamp letters and postcards with a unique postmark on June 21, the date the town was incorporated in 1811. The postmark acknowledges the town’s bicentennial and can serve as a souvenir of the occasion.

The town is celebrating its bicentennial with a series of celebratory events between June 21 and July 9.
