PORTLAND — A pattern of falling gasoline prices in Maine continues.

Price-watching website MaineGasPrices.com says the average retail gasoline price in Maine fell 2.3 cents per gallon during the past week to $3.71 per gallon, continuing a trend that’s lasted several weeks. The per-gallon average in Maine is 20.1 cents lower than it was a month ago.

But taking into account Sunday’s average, the price in Maine is still 94.8 cents per gallon higher than it was on the same day a year ago.

Nationally, gasoline prices have also been falling and as of Sunday the average stood at $3.66 per gallon.
