Car burglary – A purse, wallet, cell phone, small amount of money and bank cards were reported stolen from a vehicle at Fort Williams Park.

Tuesday, July 5

Car burglary – (3 a.m.) A Sawyer Road resident interrupted a vehicle burglary in process. Subjects escaped but left behind a bag of items taken from other vehicles. Police report “most of the property has been identified and returned to the rightful owners.”

Theft – Two bicycles were reported stolen from a garage on Spurwink Avenue sometime during the previous night.

Theft – Netflix mailers were taken from a mailbox on Spurwink Avenue sometime during the previous night.

Car burglary – A GPS unit and a battery-powered drill were reported stolen from a vehicle on Spurwink Avenue.

Car burglary – A South Paris resident reported the theft of a purse from a vehicle while at Fort Williams Park.

Car burglary – An unknown amount of loose change was reported stolen from a vehicle on Starboard Drive.

Car burglary – A Scarborough resident reported the theft of a purse from a vehicle while it was parked on Bowery Beach Road.

Animal attack – Officers responded to Two Lights State Park on the report of two people bitten by a fox. The animal was located and destroyed. It was transported to the state lab where it tested positive for rabies.

Car burglary – A South Portland resident reported the theft of a purse containing money, bank cards, jewelry and medication from a vehicle while it was at Crescent Beach State Park.

Theft – A resident of the Broad Cove area reported the theft of a wallet. It was discovered that a credit card inside was used once before the victim was able to cancel it.

Friday, July 8

Vandalism – A resident of the Broad Cove area reported a mailbox damaged sometime during the previous night.

Fraud – A Spurwink Avenue resident reported getting an email from a relative claiming to be incarcerated in Spain and in need of bail money. Funds were sent by Western Union. Later, the victim learned that the relatives email account had been hacked and that the person was not in Spain.

Car burglary – A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle on Ocean House Road.

Car burglary – Two Leatherman tools and a pair of reading glasses were reported stolen from a vehicle on Sawyer Road.

Saturday, July 9

Vandalism – (3:54 a.m.) A Mitchell Road resident reported seeing two people “checking cards” and damaging mailboxes.

Theft – A Shore Road resident reported a theft of checks.
