– The New England Outdoor Center is producing a series of six-minute documentaries on things to do in the Katahdin region, featuring the area’s flora, fauna, artistic, cultural and historic sites, including much on the logging and lumbering industry in the area.

“We did it to promote all the things there are to do in the area and the rich cultural history. We wanted to highlight the importance of this region and help people access what type of activities there are here,” said Sarah Hunt, the producer of the documentaries and the communication and program coordinator for the New England Outdoor Center. “We have a dynamic landscape with great character and personality and we want the world to know about it.”

The videographer of the project is Tyler Walker who attends Washington Community College in Calais and has attended film school in Ontario, Canada. NEOC hopes to have all the films posted to its website within the next few months.

Until then, many films can be found on youtube at tinyurl.com/6efvqmn or on Facebook at New England Outdoor Center.
