LYNN, Mass. — Brett Mollenhauer went 3 for 5 with a double and three RBI as the Sanford Mainers beat the North Shore Navigators 7-0 in the deciding game of their best-of-three New England Collegiate Baseball League Eastern Division semifinal series.

Sanford rebounded from an 8-0 loss in the series opener on Wednesday by outscoring North Shore 13-0 in the final two games.

Tripp Davis held the Navigators to five hits in eight innings. He struck out five and walked three. Brendan Hourihan struck out one and walked one in the ninth to complete the shutout.

Paul Kronenfeld got the Mainers on the board with a two-run single in the second. Mollenhauer added an RBI double in the third and a two-run single in sixth. The University of Maine’s Justin Leisenheimer hit an RBI double in the fifth and scored on a single by Jack Lupo.

Sanford advances to face the Laconia Muskrats in the best-of-three Eastern Division championship series starting today. The fourth-seeded Muskrats swept the division-winning Newport Gulls in their semifinal series.
