HOLDEN — The Maine Warden Service says a 75-year-old Holden man who had been out of his home for more than a day has been found safe.
The search for Eugene Loughlin, began at mid-day Wednesday after his daughter reported him missing, but an investigation found he had not been in his home since Tuesday evening.
Holden police Sgt. Eugene Fizell called in Warden Service tracking dogs to search for Loughlin.
The Bangor Daily News says Warden Norm Lewis and his dog, Clyde, located Loughlin about 1:30 p.m. in the woods behind his residence.
Police say Loughlin was found about 300 feet into the woods wet and muddy. He appeared to be suffering from mild hypothermia, but was otherwise unhurt.
