Registration is open for the Maine Elite Lacrosse high school and youth fall programs. The programs will be held at Deering High School on Sundays from Sept. 4 through Oct. 30. The programs are open for boys and girls in grades 2-8 and for boys in grades 9-12. The Portland Pirates will be holding auditions for the Sun Tan City Ice Girls Team on Sunday, August 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the MHG Ice Center, 15 Lund Road in Saco. South Portland Parks and Recreation is offering a youth soccer league for boys and girls in grades 1-6. The fee is $60 per child and includes a team shirt, mouthpiece, shin guards and soccer ball. Fall Soccer Equipment and Information Pick-Up Day will be held Thursday, Sept. 1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the South Portland Community Center. Registrations will be accepted on this day and will only be taken after this date if there is room on a team. The season kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 10 with a kick-off day to meet coaches and have a short practice. Practices will begin the week of Sept. 12 and will take place at Wainwright Farm Complex.
