The University of Maine School of Law and Preti Flaherty will host a sports law symposium on athletes’ rights from 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 13 at the University of Southern Maine’s Abromson Community Education Center in Portland. The panel will include a leading sports agent, an Olympic swimming champion and local sports law attorneys. The Bulldog Golf Classic, a fundraiser for Berwick Academy, will be held Sept. 22 at The Ledges in York. The tournament will be a scramble format, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. There will be contest holes, prizes and raffles. A continental breakfast and a luncheon will be provided. The cost is $125 per golfer and includes a cart. The tournament is a major fundraiser for the school’s athletics boosters.
