3. Yarmouth: The midfield corps is young, but the Clippers still have enough experience to make a run at a second consecutive Class B state title.

4. Scarborough: An extremely quick, balanced lineup will keep the Red Storm in contention for the second Class A state title in three seasons.

5. Portland: Eight returning starters should keep the defending regional champions in the middle of the Western Class A race.

6. Cape Elizabeth: A high-powered, explosive offense should make up for the Capers’ lack of experience in the back of formation.

7. Gorham: Depth, experience and talent should carry the Rams a long way in Western Class A.

8. Cheverus: A large group of talented, experienced players should keep the Stags in the mix in Western Class A.

9. South Portland: A talented veteran lineup should put the Riots into the thick of the Western Class A race.
