Ogunquit Beach sparkled on Saturday under brilliant blue skies, the perfect backdrop for the Capriccio Festival of Kites.
Supplies for making kites were provided before the mass ascension at noon. Kite clubs also hit the beach with colorful flying creations. Prizes were awarded to the younger kite fliers.
Capriccio, Ogunquit’s two-week celebration of the arts, continues until Sept. 18. The Good Neighbor Fair! Music, Food and Fun, a fundraiser for Maine’s Special Fuel Fund, takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today outside the Ogunquit Baptist Church.
