PORTLAND — The Portland Public Arts Committee will hold a meeting at 5:30 this evening to hear public comments about three designs for seating along the new Bayside Trail.

At the meeting, which will be held at Zero Station at 222 Anderson St. in Portland, the public will be able to comment on seating proposals designed by three finalists: SkyeDesign of Washington, D.C., Aaron Stephan of Portland and Gary Haven Smith of Northwood, N.H.

The finalists were chosen by the Bayside Seating Project panel from more than 100 submissions. The panel will recommend one of the designers to the City Council.

The City Council established the Portland Public Art Program in 2000 to preserve, restore and enhance the city’s public art collection, said a media release.
