A legislative committee has endorsed six of Gov. Paul LePage’s 91 nominees for state boards, commissions and judgeships, sending the nominations to the Senate for votes during next week’s special legislative session.

Tuesday’s unanimous recommendations by the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee virtually ensure that the six nominees will win Senate confirmation on Sept. 27.

The nominees who won endorsements were Robert Dunphy of North Anson and Ernest Carle of Big Lake Township to the Land Use Regulation Commission; Bruce Flewelling of Easton and Clark Granger of Woolwich to the Board of Pesticides Control; Colon Durrell of Farmington to the Maine Milk Commission; and Gary Reed of Falmouth to the Maine Harness Racing Commission.

They were the first nominees facing committee reviews, which will be conducted in the days leading up to next week’s legislative session.
