PORTLAND — Spencer Cooke ran for two touchdowns and caught another to lead the Cheverus Stags to a 41-8 victory over the Sanford Redskins in a Western Class A football game today at Cheverus’ Boulos Stadium.

Cooke’s runs covered 18  and 2 yards and he hauled in a 24-yard pass from Cam Olson to help the Stags improve to 4-0. Louie DiStasio added a pair of touchdown catches (39 and 38 yards) as Cheverus build a 35-0 lead at the half. Will Hilton rounded out the Stags’ scoring with an 18-yard score. A 2-point conversation attempt was unsuccessful.

The Redskins dropped to 2-2.

Sophomore quarterback Josh Schroder passed 29 yards to John Morgan for Sanford’s score. Slade Watson successfully found the end zone for the 2-point conversion.
