SOUTH HIRAM – Maya Richmond scored on a rebound with three minutes remaining as Sacopee Valley defeated North Yarmouth Academy 4-3 Friday in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game.

Panthers goalie Elizabeth Coughlin made the initial stop but Julia Vacchiano got the rebound and sent a pass across the goal mouth to Richmond for the winner.

Ally Allard scored the Hawks’ other three goals. Olivia Madore had two goals and Katherine Millett one for the Panthers (4-3).

Coughlin finished with five saves. Ashley Pingree stopped seven shots for Sacopee (6-2).

FREEPORT 3, TRAIP ACADEMY 2: Katie Turner’s second-half goal lifted the Falcons (6-2) past the Rangers (3-5) at Freeport.

Traip’s Madeline Lawrence and Freeport’s Abigail Smith traded first-half goals before Abbie Lawrence put the Rangers ahead 2-1 early in the second half. Jenny Breau scored with an assist from Turner to tie the game a minute later.

Emily Bolton had eight saves for Traip, and Tallie Martin made eight saves for Freeport.

GREELY 1, FALMOUTH 0: Jessica Wilson scored off a rebound of a shot by Julia Maine to lift the Rangers (5-3) over the Yachtsmen (4-3-1) at Cumberland.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2, POLAND 1: Mackenzie Rague scored with 3:16 left to give the Seagulls (2-5) a victory over the Knights (0-5) at Old Orchard Beach.

Zoe Lafrance-Armstrong got OOB on the board in the first half. Chelsey King answered for Poland with 2:53 left before halftime.

Daphne Allen assisted on both Seagulls goals.

OCEANSIDE 2, GARDINER 1: Molly Mellor scored two goals, including the winner at 3:27 of the first overtime, as the Mariners (4-4-1) beat the Tigers (5-2-2) in a KVAC Class B game at Gardiner.

BOYS’ SOCCER

PORTLAND 4, WESTBROOK 2: Tim Rovnak scored twice in the first half to help the Bulldogs (5-1-1) get by the Blue Blazes (1-5-1) at Westbrook.

After Kyle Gaudreau scored for Westbrook, Rovnak gave Portland a 2-1 halftime lead. Joe Quinlan answered early in the second half for the Blue Blazes.

Ralph Houanche gave the Bulldogs the lead for good with a penalty kick, and Guled Hussain-Ali added a goal for Portland.

SCARBOROUGH 5, BONNY EAGLE 0: Austin Downing had two goals as the Red Storm (5-0-2) downed the Scots (2-4) at Standish.

Andrew Jones, Kenny Hodgdon and John Wheeler also scored.

Scarborough goalkeeper Pat Stanton stopped three shots for the shutout. Zach Moody made 12 saves for Bonny Eagle.

CHEVERUS 5, KENNEBUNK 0: Jake Smith scored the go-ahead goal off a rebound 10 minutes into the second half as the Stags (4-1) downed the Rams (3-2-2) at Portland.

Eliot Maker scored three goals, Nick Melville had three assists, and Tyler Friedman added a goal.

Charlie Mull made six saves for Cheverus. John Burns had 10 saves for Kennebunk.

WISCASSET 0, MT. ABRAM 0: John Weatherbee had seven saves for visiting Wiscasset and Josh Beedy made six for Mt. Abram (2-2-3), including one on a penalty kick. 

EDWARD LITTLE 1, WATERVILLE 0: Nate Blais scored with 19:12 remaining to lift Edward Little (2-4-1) past visiting Waterville (1-6).

Ian Therriault set up the winning score. Ben Bowles made four saves to earn the shutout.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

MT. ARARAT 11, SKOWHEGAN 1: Haley Michaud had four goals as visiting Mt. Ararat (5-1-1) routed Skowhegan (0-8).

Nicole Ross, Chelsea Crawford, Hannah Hauser, Sonja Robert, Cat Johnson, Syndi Clark and Libby Ouellette also scored.

LEAVITT 1, OAK HILL 1: Julie Morneault scored an unassisted goal seven minutes into the second half as the Raiders (4-2-1) earned a tie with the Hornets (2-3-2) at Wales.
