FISC Solution was recently named as one of the best places to work in Maine by the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management. The awards program recognizes companies that have established and consistently fostered outstanding workplace environments.

Jonathan Shapiro, Eric Uhl, Melinda Caterine and Philip Moss, attorneys at Fisher & Phillips LLP, were selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2012.

HealthSource Chiropractic and Progressive Rehab was named the top health-care service franchise in the online August edition of Entrepreneur Magazine.

PROMOTIONS

Peter DelGreco was appointed president and chief executive officer of Maine & Company. DelGreco was most recently the vice president of operations.

• Joseph Royer was promoted to vice president of sales at Unified Technologies in Portland. Royer joined the company in 2010.

Joel Russ was appointed to serve as interim chief executive officer of LearningWorks in Portland. Russ, of Bristol, has served as LearningWorks’ director of development for the past two years.

CEO Ethan Strimling is on leave.

David Allen was promoted to president and chief executive officer at Howell Laboratories.

Allen has been with Howell since 1982. Most recently, he served as vice president and chief operating officer.

Crossroads for Women promoted Teresa Bendokas-Heinfeld, Mary Anne Roy and Randi Sheehan.

Bendokas-Heinfeld, of Freeport ,was promoted to outpatient practice manager.

She will oversee the administration of Crossroads’ counseling centers in Portland, Windham and Kennebunk.

Roy, of Saco, was promoted to clinical supervisor for Kennebunk Counseling Center. Sheehan, of South Portland, is now the clinical supervisor of Crossroads’ residential rehabilitation program in Windham. Both Roy and Sheehan were previously clinicians.

Lisa Rideout was promoted to executive vice president of Norway Savings Bank’s asset management group. Rideout joined the bank in 2003 to develop and launch its first trust and investment division, the Norway Savings Asset Management Group.

Janine Valliere was promoted to human resource manager at Central Maine Orthopaedics in Auburn.

Valliere joined CMO in 2008 and worked previously as a human resource generalist.

Coleen Farrell was promoted to vice president of human resources at Mid Coast Health Services in Brunswick.

Farrell has served as director of human resources there for the past 11 years.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

Dana Morris-Jones and Meg Wilson joined the board of directors for the Kids First Center.

Morris-Jones is principal and co-founder of The Delphi Group Inc. in Scarborough.

Wilson, of North Yarmouth, is a freelance writer and educator.
